Immediate implants

Immediate implant is a practice of dentistry that considerably shortens the time of treatment. On average, dental implants can take between 8 and 12 months. This is a long time.

A traditional dental implant is:

1- The Processing Period

During this step, your dentist will evaluate your mouth. If it detects inflammation in the gum or root of the teeth, it will opt for a treatment period before dental implantation.

You may need 2-3 weeks of healing treatment; Depending on the severity of your infection.

2- Bone transplant (not always necessary)

If your bone mass is low, you may need a bone transplant. If you need this step but want to skip it, consider dental implants 4 in 1.

Bone transplantation requires between 3 and 4 months of healing.

3- Implant surgery

Implant surgery is a procedure through which your dentist pierces your gum and inserts the implant. This stage alone requires 3 months of healing.

4- Placement of crown

You can opt for instant crowns that your dentist immediately manufactures according to the high technology method CEREC. You also have the traditional method that usually takes 3 weeks to realize and design the crowns.

How do immediate implants work?

The concept of immediate implants is to neglect the treatment period and begin surgery. For example, if you have inflammation or an infected root, your dentist must first treat it and then immediately begin implant surgery.

Because most patients don't want to wait too long to get their crown. You can opt for an immediate placement of the crown.

With the method CEREC, you don't only get a temporary crown, you get a custom ceramic crown in color matching that of your teeth that works and behaves exactly like natural teeth.

Advantages and disadvantages of immediate implants

The benefits of immediate dental implants are clear. You get your smile in one day and it avoids months of treatment and numerous visits to the dentist.

The crown is customized according to your dental measurements using CEREC technology.

The disadvantages of immediate implants are more related to real risks. For example, patients usually wait for the root to merge with the los before placing the crown. In case it doesn't merge well, you only lose the costs of surgery.

In any case, these risks are extremely low, but if with the immediate implant your teeth do not merge with jaw bone, you need to re-operation and put the same crown back on.

Are the immediate implants safe?

Several studies by journalists show that there is not much difference between conventional or immediate implants. In fact, immediate implants add more benefits by shortening the duration of treatment.

Overall, they are a very safe and fast option.
